The law of attraction has become a cultural shorthand for something that is far more precise and far more mechanical than the phrase suggests. Most people understand this law as a vague idea: think positive thoughts and positive things will happen. This is a cartoon version of a genuine principle, and the lack of true understanding is costly. When people apply the cartoon version and get mixed results, they conclude the principle is unreliable and doesn’t work. What they have actually discovered is that they are misunderstanding the law.
The Law of Attraction is a secondary law. The primary law is the Law of Vibration. Once you understand how the Law of Vibration actually works, the law of attraction becomes not a hope, but a predictable practice.
Your Brain as Transmitter
Your brain is a biological radio station. This is not metaphor — it is the literal description of how the organ functions. The brain generates electromagnetic frequencies, and these frequencies change depending on your mental state. When you are anxious, the frequencies are different from when you are calm. When you are focused, they differ from when you are scattered. When you hold a clear, emotionally charged intention, the brain generates a specific signal.
Biological systems respond to frequency. Every cell in your body is sensitive to the electromagnetic environment created by your nervous system. Your overall state — what you might loosely call your energetic vibration — is the aggregate of the signals your body-mind system is continuously broadcasting.
Now consider: if two radio stations are broadcasting on the same frequency, they receive each other's signal. This is not magic, this is physics. The Law of Vibration is a statement about frequency coherence — about the tendency of systems operating at the same frequency to interact, to attract, and to resonate.
Your thoughts are not private events happening in isolation, they are frequencies. And the frequencies you sustain — consciously or not — determine what your system is tuned to receive.
"Your brain it is a transmitter of frequency, energy and vibration. What you consistently broadcast determines what the world sends back."
— Matt Grybel, FounderThe 4 Levels of Consciousness
Understanding where you are in relation to any skill, belief, or capability is essential. There are 4 distinct levels and I teach these more in depth in my book, ‘The 5th Basic’.
The first level is unconscious incompetence: you do not know what you do not know. Your limiting beliefs are operating, but you have no awareness of them. You experience their effects — the ceiling, the patterns, the recurring obstacles — without being able to name their source. Most people spend most of their lives here, not because they are incapable but because no one showed them a map.
The second level is conscious incompetence: you can see the gap. You know that something in your thinking is producing results you do not want. This level is uncomfortable — awareness without skill is painful — but it is enormously more useful than the first level. You can work with what you can see.
The third level is conscious competence: you can think differently, but it requires deliberate effort. The new pattern is available but not yet automatic. You have to choose it intentionally, return to it repeatedly, and correct yourself when you slip. This is the level where most personal development work happens.
The fourth level is unconscious competence: this is where the new pattern operates automatically. The elevated vibration, the expectation of abundance, the clarity of purpose — these are no longer practices you perform, they are who you are. This is what is sometimes called flow state — the experience of operating at the highest level of your capability without effort, because the capability has become internalized and apart of the program.
The work is to move through these levels with intention, and movement happens through repetition — not occasional effort, but sustained, deliberate repetition.
"The goal is not to practice a higher vibration. The goal is to become it — to reach the level where you no longer have to choose it because it is simply who you are."
— Matt Grybel, FounderDesire as Fuel, Not Steering
There is a distinction I find critically important: desire is the fuel. A burning desire, as Napoleon Hill framed it, is what gives any goal the energy it requires to move from intention to reality. Without genuine desire — not mild preference, not vague wish, but consuming, clarifying desire — the effort required to sustain a new vibration will erode under the first significant obstacle.
But desire is not the steering wheel, the steering wheel is the mental image you hold of where you are going. Desire moves the vehicle, and the image directs it.
This matters because many people have strong desire but unclear images. They want more but cannot clearly see the more they are moving toward. The subconscious mind needs specificity. It responds to vivid, detailed, emotionally alive images of desired states — not vague concepts. The more precisely you can see, hear, and feel the intended outcome, the more coherent the signal your brain broadcasts, and the more effectively your awareness — and your circumstances — can orient toward it.
Abundance Is Your Birthright
Scarcity is learned. Abundance is the natural condition of an infinite universe. There is no shortage of electrons. There is no shortage of ideas, of beauty, of possible solutions to human problems. Scarcity exists only in specific material contexts, and even there, the scarcity is almost always a function of distribution rather than supply.
The scarcity you experience in your own life — of money, of time, of opportunity, of connection — is a frequency you are broadcasting, not a fact about the world. I know this is a strong claim. I also know it is demonstrably true in the lives of people who have done the work to shift their paradigm.
Abundance as a birthright is not a feel-good platitude. It is a statement about the default setting of a human being who has not been conditioned out of it. Children who have not yet been shaped by scarcity thinking do not limit their expectations. They assume the world will respond to them, that what they need will arrive, that life is fundamentally generous. Somewhere along the way, that assumption gets educated out of most of us.
The work is to reclaim it. Not to become naive, but to return to an accurate understanding of what is available.
"You were not born believing in scarcity. You were taught it. Which means it can be unlearned — but only if you decide, clearly and finally, that you are done with this way of thinking."
— Matt Grybel, FounderThe Discipline of Frequency
Managing your vibration is not a passive practice, it is active, ongoing, and requires the same discipline as any other high-performance endeavor.
What you consume — media, conversation, environment — is frequency input. What you produce in thought and word is frequency output. The gap between where your vibration is and where it needs to be for a given result is a training problem, and it is solved the same way all training problems are solved: through consistent, deliberate practice applied over sufficient time.
There are no shortcuts. There are only degrees of consistency. And the good news is that the compounding on this particular investment is among the most powerful available to any human being. A sustained shift in vibration changes not just outcomes but the entire quality of the life you are living while those outcomes are on their way.
